A Prayer

Heavenly Father,
I ask for more of your Spirit.
I have learned I cannot go without you.
I cannot breathe,
I cannot think,
I cannot feel.
Your brilliance is the only sun that awakens the dawn in my soul.
Your beauty brings me joy.
Your kindness gives me stability.
Your gentleness has made me who I am meant to be.
I need your love.
I need your fathering,
I need your mothering,
I need your friendship.
I need all of you.
You promised more to those who ask.
I ask for more.
I ask for more than I take.
Glorify your name through me.
Holy Spirit,
Take me as you will.
Break down every fear,
Throw away every excuse,
Burn up every last defense,
That I have kept to guard my heart against your fullness.
Posses me,
Entangle me,
Woo me.
Cut off every voice in my life that hinders my ears from hearing your word.
Purify my heart,
Cleanse my mind,
Sanctify my soul.
Jesus,
Thank-you!
You are beautiful.
You are powerful.
You are God.
You are the word made flesh.
You are YAHWEH.
Baptize me with fire.
Flood me with your Spirit,
Just like you flooded the earth,
As in the days of Noah.
I have faith,
I need not understanding.
Consume my mind!
Rapture my heart!
All I am is yours.
And if it isn’t,
Destroy it,
Until it is.
May I not be taken by other gods.
May I not be distracted by other spirits.
May I not be wooed by other loves.
You are the one!
Come, Spirit!
Come, Jesus!
Come, Father!
